Prayer Day Apart at Blue Cloud Abbey October 2-3, 2009

You are invited to participate in a
Prayer Day Apart
…a day of prayer, personal meditation, silence and community
Christian Monasticism is a way of living that is born out of a desire “to entertain silence in the
heart and listen for the voice of God – to pray for discovery” (Thomas Merton) and for the purpose of
being recharged by God. This Prayer Day Apart will consist of personal and guided meditation, community prayer, simple meals and silence.
Friday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. - Saturday, October 3, after lunch
Blue Cloud Abbey, Marvin, South Dakota
$70 per person
Simple Breakfast and Lunch Provided on Saturday
(Supper on Friday at 5:00 available for additional cost)
Hospitality maintains a prominence in the living monastic tradition. As outlined in Saint Benedict’s
Rules for Monasteries, it is recognized that the guest represents Christ and is welcomed into the
community as such.
ALL ARE WELCOME!
Please register with Pastor Martha at martha@sfasbury.org or in the Hospitality Room of Asbury United Methodist Church.
