Have returned from the Stephen Ministry Leader training I'd been at last week in Dallas. 517 individuals attended this training in Dallas. 150 male, 367 female, 70 pastors, 11 who had attended a previous training and 298 Stephen Ministers. Being United Methodist, I was interested to see the stats: 113 UMC congregations were represented out of 318 total congregations (37%) and 180 UMC individuals out of the 517 individuals who attended (34.8%).
I totalled the hours that we were busy: 61 hours! My continuing ed certificate shows only 41 hours of training. I counted all the meal hours too, because we took advantage of the sessions that were offered during meal times. Lots of information with regard to some other ministries and curriculum. Great information. Very exciting potential.
