Stephen Ministry Leader Commissioning

Barb and I were commissioned yesterday during the worship service. Most of our current and previous Stephen Ministers were present at the service and laid hands on Barb and me as we knelt before God to take our commitment vows and to be blessed. This is a responsibility that we are both excited to be about, to be able to help others learn to offer distinctively Christian caregiving on a one to one basis with those in need. I have been a Stephen Minister for a while now and have learned so much throughout that time. I am looking forward to this aspect of my spiritual journey, to what I will learn in leadership skills and what I will experience from those Stephen Ministers and Leaders who are honest, caring, supportive and encouraging. I look forward to continuing to be molded and formed, to the rough edges being smoothed out, and the skills and gifts that God provides being developed and matured.
