Stephen Ministry

Barb and I are in Dallas, TX for a week long leader training for our Stephen Ministry program. It has been an exciting week full of meeting new people, worship, and way too much learning. Our brains are full! But two days to go; we Will persevere.

There are over 500 people here participating in this training. There are over 300 denominations represented. It is absolutely wonderful to be in the presence of so many brothers and sisters in Christ. Whenever a group of us get together, it seems we become instant family. We have been blessed with meeting a couple who were ever so generous and offered to take us out to a TexMex restaurant, because we understand we cannot leave Texas until we have had good Texas steak and TexMex. We had Texas steak one night and Tex Mex another night. Even just traveling, we met others who were waiting in airports to fly to Dallas, and we plan to get together to all fly home at the same time too. Different states, different denominations, same love of Christ.

However wonderful this experience is, I am looking forward to being home and to beginning the opportunities and challenges of ministry.
