Thoughts on Election Day
What an exciting moment in history. As I watch the morning shows, watch the video of celebration, hear the soundbites from both parties, I find myself excited, hopeful, amazed and a little overwhelmed by this moment in history. Certainly as the days pann out over time, it is my hope that the vision for our country, the tearing down of divisive walls, the lifting up of the best of all of us will continue. Even as I went to vote yesterday morning, I was on the fence. I am sustained by my faith that in all things God brings about his ultimate will. And I am thankful to be living in this country of such freedoms, even as I struggle with the issues of the day. May we all continually pray for our leaders, for peace and love to pervade throughout the world, that we lead from a servant-heart, and praise God for God's faithfulness to us.
