Check It Out: Dakotas Diary, Bishop Deb Kiesey

Friends in Christ,
One of the tenants John Wesley taught his Methodists to embrace was
connectionalism: the concept that we, as the body of Christ, are bound together by the common purpose of reaching out to the world through mission and ministry.
Connectionalism manifests itself in numerous ways throughout our church, and this Lent, I invite all of us in the Dakotas Conference to start "connecting" in a new way.
By now, you're accustomed to receiving my Dakotas Diary via e-mail. Well, we're taking it a step further by posting the Diary on a Web log, or ³blog.² What exactly is a blog? It¹s an easy-to use Web site that allows you to quickly interact and share your thoughts with others.
The Lenten installments of the Dakotas Diary will lead us through the book of Ephesians. Over the next five weeks, you¹ll receive an e-mail every Tuesday notifying you a new devotional has been posted to our new blog, http://dakotasumc.blogspot.com/.
After each devotion, a few questions are presented my hope is that you'll ³talk² about the various topics with your fellow Dakotans and engage in conversation together.
To post a comment, simply click on the red ³comments² link at the end of each entry. Then type your thoughts in the ³Leave your comments² box. Next, enter the letters shown into the ³Word Verification² box. Finally, choose your identity. If you have a Google or Open ID account, enter your username.
Otherwise, select the Name/URL button and type in your name; no URL is needed. Please, no anonymous posts.
If you have any questions about this process, please contact Laura Owen at dakumcom@dakotasumc.org and she will walk you through the steps.
For those of you who simply wish to read and reflect on the devotion, the text is below.
It is my hope that during this Lenten season we can all grow in our faith and togetherness as we seek God¹s wisdom through these holy words.
Bishop Deb
