I am here in Salina, Kansas at Kansas Wesleyan University for the next two weeks. There are six of us from the Dakotas in a class of 22 who are going through the School for Licensing. It's hot and humid and allergies are kicking in. I didn't realize I was susceptible, but have had such a migraine headache this late morning/afternoon that I had to skip out of a portion of two classes to try to get rid of it. Bummer. The first class this morning was on Worship and really went over the history of the church and worship within the structure of the church from BC to AD. The afternoon class was on Pastoral Care. These two classes will be our week this week. We will be having speakers in the evening and "field trips" during the afternoon.
Last night we met with our group, met the instructors and had worship service. Am staying in dorms, how much fun! You know I never did stay on campus when I went to college, even then went for an Associates degree at a two year college. I have stayed in dorms when attending Five Day Academy for Spiritual Formation and at Nashville when attending Spiritual Direction/Retreat Leadership workshops. But this is always fun for me. Meeting the different people, exploring our faith journeys, and such is always enlightening. So many stories out there.
Oops - gotta go. Time for BOOM - Board of Ordained Ministry. Talk with you all later.
